Long absence...

Hi all, I know it has been some time since I have posted. Have just had a lot going on the past few months. I started a new job which I can honestly say I absolutely love. It is a lot faster paced then previous jobs but it keeps me busy and my mind off things I don't want to focus on. The downside to keeping busy with the new job I haven't had time to focus on writing. I am looking forward to this wonderful 4 day weekend I have received to get back to writing. It has been hard to get on a schedule to write and maintain the part-time job which seems to become a full-time job on occasions with the up and down of the scheduling. I just have to keep myself from sleeping it away cause right now all I want to do is sleep! Wishing all a happy and safe weekend!!!

New Adventure...additional chapter

Well as most of you might recall I have been working towards being a full-time author, unfortunately, this is just not something which I can do and assist in providing for the family. So, I took steps to find a part-time job. I am happy to say I am currently now gainfully employed part-time as a barista and really enjoying it. So far I have not had time to do any writing but I am still getting used to the routine and have plans to continue writing and running DMS Solutions. I just have to get the routine back on track and I will have them both running like a well-oiled machine.
Had my first mishap and burned two of my fingers on the oven but had to awesome coworkers who assisted in getting me all taken care of and fixed up so I could finish my shift. I don't even think I will need to put ice on them now that I am home. There is so much to learn and it really is much faster paced then I have worked since I was a teenager, but it is funny because I have been told a couple times to just slow down and breath...I have to be reminded to breathe. Trying too hard to get it all right and done quickly. However, the encouragement is amazing and really helps keep me from discouraging myself. I have an awesome group of teammates.

New Gardening adventure

Well as most of you may recall I tried my hand at doing a vegetable garden. This year I was going to skip it but a few plants had a different plan for me. I did a quick YouTube video showing my surprise tomato plants hidden among the weeds in the gardening plot. I cleared out some of the weeds but there is still a lot more weeding to do. Eye Update...

I know it has been a while since I have updated on the status of my eye situation. As I stated in the previous update the 2nd/4th opinion turned out to show the injections were causing more harm than helping but would have been the path of choice even for that doctor. The only difference was her suggestion to get testing done to see if I had a clotting issue in my blood.
I went for my annual check-up last week and had the tests run. The good news is there are no clotting issues with my blood. However, it puts me back at square one. I still have no idea how, why or what caused this to happen to my eye or how to prevent it from happening to the other eye.
Unfortunately, it did not turn out as I had hoped and there is no chance of vision ever being restored in my left eye. The reality of it is, "it is what it is." I am not being negative or getting down about it. I have been living with this now for over 7 years and truth be told I am grateful I can still see and do the things I love.
I can still see colors, read, write, create, and assist other with these items as well. I refuse to let this stop me from living my life or stop me from doing what makes me the happiest. I will be staying strong in my conviction of being true to myself and not letting the hurdle become a blockade. I have overcome the limitations and converted my way of doing things to jump the hurdles as they come up in front of me.
As the saying goes, what doesn't kill me, makes me stronger. I refuse to give in or give up, I will be stronger!

Health...

This has been a week of doctors visits. Nothing massive, just the annual check-ups. However, I had to have a mammogram done. I went to my general practitioner on Monday and the check-up went well. I did have some blood work and still waiting for the results.
I went for my mammogram today and it went good, well as good as getting your boob squeezed flat can be anyway. They are no where near fun but are very important for staying up on your boob health. I will say if you have a family history anywhere to make sure you always get a mammogram done when your doctor advises it. I have now gotten to the point when I have to have them done once a year.
The fun part is getting to see the images once they are finished taking them. Technology is an awesome improvement for these types of things. It will still take at least a few weeks to get the official report but the images are so cool to see. When you have one done you should ask the tech if you can see the images. They really are amazing to look at, however, this is coming from someone who thinks looking at images of the inside of my eye is really cool.
I leave you with this thought...Always be proactive rather than reactive.

This weeks letter "N"

Narrative...as we all know, is a story or an account of event, experiences, or the like. Can be true or fictitious. It is the art, technique, or process in telling the story.
We all have our own ways of narrating the stories we tell. Some do it in a chronological order. Some start at the end and work backward. There are even those who start in the middle.
There is no finite rule to how you write a story. How you write your story is always what works best for you. It is also what is best for your audience. The way you tell your story is how you make your story exciting and your audience wants to hear more.
For me, I always write from the beginning of the story and let it flow. However, I have started further into a story and had to go back and create the beginning. I have talked to other authors who start at the ending. I see these differences as what makes each author unique and is what draws their audience to them.
The amount of excitement, emotion, passion, and drive are all part of your narrative. I leave you with this thought...writing is for the author just as much as it is for the reader.

This weeks letter "I"

Topic: Imagination

When I write my imagination takes over and my mind creates the story as I am writing. I have a very active imagination and have all my life. When I was younger I was told on multiple occasions "You live in your own reality. Get your head out of the clouds."
I have to say with an imagination as powerful as mine I do make my own reality. This does not mean I don't have a clue about what is going on around me by any means. It just means when I write I see the world I am creating and because I can see it so clearly, I am able to show it to others not just tell them about it.
When you write, your imagination is what drives what you write. You have to be able to see what you are writing so others will see it too. Think about it, when you watch a t.v. show or a movie, you are watching someone else's imaginary creation.
When you write do you see your story in your mind like you are watching a movie or t.v. show in your mind? This is the power of a strong imagination. When you write let your imagination take the wheel, don't fight your imagination and try to steer it, let it steer you. A creative mind is a powerful vehicle where the imagination is the driver.

This weeks letter "T"

Topic: Title

Choosing a title for a book for me comes from the story. I don't have a title in mind when I start writing. As I write the story tells me the title of the story. The series title came to me at first as the title of just the book I was currently writing. However, the more I wrote the clearer it got to me the title came to me with the purpose of telling me it was a series title, not a single book title.
When I tried my hand at the mystery thriller genre it took me much longer to come up with the title. I had the story completed before I even had a clue to the title. It was still the story itself which gave me the title.
To me, the job of the title is an insight into what the story is about. To give the reader a piece of the puzzle to solve the mystery within the pages. Every chapter another piece. So, by the end of the book, you either know or think you know what is coming. If the pieces are placed just right you will have a general idea of what is going to happen but the end will still be a surprise.
So, the next time you pick up a book think about what piece of the puzzle the title is giving you and see when you reach the end if all your pieces fit the way you thought they would.
Every word in a book is like a step you take in your life. Be the author of your own life; take the steps to lead you to the destination of your choosing.

This week the letter "I"

Topic: "Inspiration"
This weeks topic using the letter "I" is Inspiration. I find my inspiration for writing all around me. Most of the time my stories are my inspiration as I am writing them. I love when the story comes alive for me because then I know it is the story I am meant to write. Watching as my characters grow and are no longer flat, inspires me to keep going. Being able to see the scene as I am putting the words down inspires me.
For me, the inspiration is like falling down a rabbit hole and becoming apart of the story myself. It ignites the passion within me and the story evolves and becomes a living thing and is no longer just words I am putting down on paper. I can see, taste, touch, and smell the scenery in my mind like a vivid dream.
So, for me, my inspiration comes from within. Where do you find your "Inspiration"?
Be inspired and share the passion.

Stay tuned, there is always more to come...

Weekend events...

Well, despite my collision with a deer on Sunday afternoon (1:30ish), which is an odd time to see deer out and moving around anyway, I had a good weekend. I got family time with the hubby and two of my boys. Thankfully the one son was home Sunday afternoon and had not left to go back to base yet or I would have been calling the other one at his job.
It took three hours from the time I hit the deer to get back home with my car. I did not drive it, we were fortunate enough to have some very kind individuals, who had stopped to make sure I was okay after the deer tried to catch a ride with me, offered us the use of a car dolly so I didn't have to call for a tow truck, since the HP on the scene said, "I can't let you drive this vehicle." He had walked over and pushed on the class to show it wasn't safe to drive even though I was only 10 minutes from the house.
The hubby called Autoglass Now and ordered a new windshield Sunday and it was replaced today (Tuesday). The installer called me 30 minutes before he arrived. When he arrived he went straight to work. I had never seen a windshield replaced before, I found it very cool to watch him. From start to finish it took him less than an hour to get the broken windshield out and the new one in. And trust me when I say it was hot and my car was not in the shade.
For my Carolina peeps, if you ever need auto glass repairs or replacements, this is the company to call for sure. They were professional, quick, and reasonably priced!

Before                                                 After

Yay, new window. Now HP won't say I can't drive it. :)

Letter "R"

Topic: Redrafts
Redrafts are a part of every writer's life. Redrafts are done in every part of the writing process. The first draft a writer puts down is never perfect or the final product. Most writers before they even give it to a beta reader(s) or an editor do several redrafts. Then do additional redrafts after getting comments or suggestions from the beta reader(s).
I would say it is safe to say writers will do easily five to six redrafts before they feel they are even close to putting their work out for publication. I am currently on my fourth redraft and will hit my fifth with the comments and suggestions from my editor.
Redrafts are the writer's version of edits but they are the same as the edits provided by an editor. For me, I go back through and see if there is a better way to say what I have said in fewer words or better words to say what I have said to make the story better.
Every writer wants to make their story the best it can be which is why they do so many redrafts before the story is every put out for the actual public to read. Writers strive for perfection even though we all know perfection is unattainable because no matter what someone will find something wrong be it just their opinion, it will still be something wrong rendering it less than perfect.
Writers life: write, redraft, redraft, beta read, redraft, editor, redraft and one more redraft, oh wait I need to do one more redraft then I'm done.
Redrafts are a writers path to perfection...or a writers insanity.

Writing...
When authors write it is to entertain or educate. Writing to entertain is a talent and a craft. Everyone can write but a truly talented writer can create an entire world in the reader's mind and make them apart of it. This is not something which can be taught.
The rules we learn in school to write are a base and generally geared for technical writing which does not engage the imagination. Those who do technical writing are sticklers for the rules because it is what they have to do to stay within the structure of technical writing. Technical writing can be taught, it is a process and processes can be taught.
However, storytelling is different than technical writing, it does still have basic rules, spelling, grammar, sentence structure and flow, but with storytelling, the goal is to engage the reader, make them feel, and see what you, as the author, want them to see and feel. An author always has to show, not tell when it comes right down to it.
In order for writing to be good, it has to have the passion behind it. The passion in what is being written. If the author does not feel anything about what they are writing, then the reader will not feel anything when they read it, hence leaving the writing as nothing more than words not a story.
Creativity and passion are the lifelines to storytelling, you have to have both when you are writing to engage readers.
Be passionate about your writing, feel what you are writing and the reader will too.

Rocked it...

So excited to say I "Rocked" my presentation today! I was nervous since it was my very first time doing a presentation but I, not only survived it, I stayed focused and delivered as a professional. I did get critiqued since it was in front of my peers.
One was my delivery and enthusiasm changed from little enthusiasm at the beginning to energetic enthusiasm at the end. This one I realize had some to do with nerves at the beginning but the time was ticking down which caused my strength adaptability to kick in to make sure I finished the presentation in the time allowed. The nerves will get better the more I do it and the delivery will be smoother the next time around.
The second one, well this one will become smoother with the practice, I said "um" enough to be distracting to the listeners. Here I wasn't familiar enough with my script and wasn't reading from it so the word "um" flowed out while I was thinking of the next thing to say.
The third one, the closing, I didn't have one. Since this was a room of my classmates they and the instructor assisted me in creating my closing, so I now have one.
The last thing was a suggestion of adding my presentation in video form to my website. I will be taking this suggestion and doing it once I have refined the delivery and will be cutting it from fifteen minutes to seven minutes.
Be nervous but never doubt what you can accomplish.

Power...

I have decided it is a good thing to give my strengths the forefront. I have always looked at the bright side of things the silver lining even when I really did not want to. Even at my lowest, I have turned my perspective to see the good. Now, don't get me wrong I have my days where I just want to stay in bed with the covers pulled over my head. But the rest of the time, I find I am so much happier, no matter what is happening, if I just focus on the good and the positive.
Letting the negativity take hold won't change what is wrong it will only amplify it and bring you down. I say stop giving the negative so much power, take it back! You can't turn negativity around but you can choose to look for the positive side. It is all in the power of perspective, you have the choice which one you are going to hold onto.
So, I am going to use the power of positivity and amplify the good. Life is an adventure and mine is going to be a good one. I will meet every challenge presented and overcome. I am in control of my perspective and my perspective is all I can control.
This is my challenge to all those who read this...make the decision, see the positive, find the silver lining or make it, if you have too, but see the good, the hope, the possibilities, the best and go with those. Use your strengths and find the inner power you possess and with it anything is possible.

Short weekend trip...

We took a short trip to Columbia, SC. We had so much fun together. The food was awesome. The first night we ate at a Mexican restaurant and it was so good. Although I think my husband's plate looked prettier than mine but they were both tasted so good.

The second night we tried a really cool pizzeria. They use an actual wood fire oven to make the pizzas. I didn't take any pictures of the food its self but I took a picture of the cup. I wish I had thought about it and took a picture of the stove, it was a really pretty brick igloo-shaped oven which they covered with brick red colored glass tiles. So cool.

We stayed at the Marriott Hotel downtown. The room was really nice and the staff was so friendly. I didn't take a bathing suit so I didn't get to try out the pool but the food we had for breakfast was great. I loved the architecture of the buildings, the brick sidewalks, and we were down the street from the state building. I took pictures of the buildings...

The Ties That Bind...Book One

Lyric & Michael...

On the day she arrived to start, a man sat on the sofa in the waiting area. When she saw him, her breath caught, a warming sensation overwhelmed her as her muscles tighten and her thighs quivered. Her body’s reaction was nothing she ever experienced previously. Who was this man which made her body betray her?
Her mind wandered to the question, “if he tasted as good as he looked.” The growing urges made it hard to focus on the task at hand. Tearing her eyes away, she forced herself back on course to the receptionist’s desk. As she proceeded, she could feel the stranger’s eyes following her across the open space.

Mother's Day...

It is Mother's Day, a day to celebrate your mother. I am fortunate to not only have my mother still here with me but I am blessed to have a second mother who has been there since I was twelve who has loved me just as much as my mom.
I have also been twice blessed with wonderful Mother-n-Laws. I have heard a lot of horror stories about Mother-n-Laws and I always felt sorry for those who weren't as blessed as I. My first Mother-n-Law was/is a kind woman and always made me feel as though I were her child, not just her daughter-n-law. My second/current mother-n-law has also always treated me as a daughter and not a daughter-n-law.
To all four of these fabulous women who are a part of my life, I say thank you for loving me despite my faults. I love you all dearly and can say I will always love you all!!!
To my grandmother's who have past, you are missed daily, always cherished, remembered, & loved!!!
Happy Mother's Day to all!!!

Mid-Week Goals...

Feeling accomplished! I have set several goals for myself this week. I have actually stuck to the plan and completed the goals set for the first part of this week. I have seen an increase in views of not only my blog but the numbers are growing for my website and twitter followers.
My goal of reaching further is picking up speed. I continue to network, but I am working from as many angles as I can. Being a one-woman brand is a lot of work but it is so worth it because I know what I have to offer is worth it. My determination is keeping me on track and won't allow me to give up.
My passion for what I do and what I can offer, fuels my determination to make something more of what I have already done. The feeling of accomplishment is so euphoric I want to feel it every day. However, I am not so displaced from reality to know there are going to be ups and downs, I just have to keep the downs from taking me below the surface and drown.
The high for now will carry me for the rest of the week. No negativity here today folks!!!
Happy Hump Day Y'all!!!

Meet the Two Villains of book two in the series...

He shook his head as he disagreed, "No, we are going to go at this from a different angle. I have a different plan for the woman. I want you to focus on Daniel. Do you think you can do it without screwing it up again?"
She glared back at him as she informed, "I didn't screw up the first time. Thank you! So, what is it you have in mind for Daniel since I know you don't want me to kill him?"
He smiled eerily at her as he said, "You are going to get close to him. I want you to seduce him. Distract him. Manipulate his memory. I want you to erase the woman from his memory."
As a shiver ran up her spine she replied, "Just how close do you want me to get?"
He nodded at her as he boasted, "You know exactly what I expect. Do not fail!"
She got up to leave. She looked back over her shoulder. She inquired, "Have you completed my cover story? I will be going back to the hospital when the pregnant female delivers."
Without looking at her, he confirmed, "I know my job; you just do yours!"

Weekend Bliss...

I know it is only Friday but my weekend has started out very blissfully. I was able to sleep in this morning after the busy week and long days. I am looking forward to this weekend and getting some things done for my books.
I finished one chapter redraft but have several more to do and this weekend will be my time to get this accomplished and I may actually get caught up with my editor again. I will also get things lined up for next week to make sure I accomplish my short-term goals for next week.
I will not post over the weekend and will try to stay offline so I can get some actual editing and redrafting done. I find I don't get as much done when I am checking email, facebook, twitter, website,  fiverr, and blog. I try to limit those checks to three times a day but we all get caught up when we check Facebook and before we know it 3 hours have blown past.
Hope everyone has a great weekend and I will catch up with you all on Monday!!!

Crazy Week...

Has anyone found the busier you are the faster the time goes and you forget what day it is? I like being busy and having things to do but when I am so busy I have to look at the calendar/my phone to know what day of the week it is, it is time to slow down just a bit.
Forward momentum is the goal but life passes by fast enough without making it disappear by being too busy.
I knew this week was going to be nuts but since I have been out of work and struggling to get my business off the ground {again}, I had become complacent because I work from home and only leave the house when I have to. This week I have places to be at by certain times and they aren't in my house on my computer.
Now don't get me wrong, I am a people person and I thrive being around others but I have also learned to enjoy being away from people working hard on my computer creating and writing. Since it is my passion, I can do it all day, every day as long as my eyes don't complain, of course.
It is only Wednesday and I am already looking forward to a nice quiet weekend of not having to be anywhere but where I want to be when I want to be there.
Happy Hump Day Everyone!!!

Meet the first Villain in the Series...Jessie

To her shock, Michael bent down, snatch the girl up over his shoulder, walk to his car, and place her in the passenger seat as she laughed. He moved around to the driver side with lightning speed.
Anger rolled over her like a dark cloud across the blue sky. Without thought, her hands ignited. Catching herself, she drew the power back inside not wanting to give away her presence. Remaining unseen until she was ready to make her presence known to the little tart.
Michael would be hers, and nothing would stand in the way least of all her. She needed another vehicle. She had called a car service, requesting a car to come to her location. It arrived just as Michael was pulling out of Ethan’s driveway, taking the first exit to the freeway, pulling into traffic. She directed the driver to follow them. She realized from the direction Michael was heading he was not going to his house. He must be taking her home. Now she would know where she lived as well.

New Adventure Continued...

I have a busy week this week. I have signed up for several classes this week to help get stronger as a business owner. I don't mind doing all the work, just need to figure out what I am missing in all of this building a business from the ground up.
I know I can do it, there is just so much to know and keep in mind when it comes to doing everything. I am also trying to find a part-time job to have some income to help out with the household until the business actually becomes my full-time income.
The road is full of boulders but I am not letting them stop me. Breaking them down is taking more muscle than I ever thought I had. It is one thing to start a business, it is a whole other thing to hold on and not give up on yourself.
I am determined to not give up on making this business, I have such a great passion for, a lucrative and productive business. A job is not work when you are passionate about what you do. Love your job and never work again!!!

Had to Share...

As previously posted I went in for a "second"/fourth opinion on my eye situation. Got some really cool looking pictures out of it and wanted to share one of them with you. Now, if this wasn't my own eye it would be awesome abstract pictures. The dark spot you see in the photo is where the blood flow no longer exists. The veins you see have dye in them which is why you can see them so well. the specks you see close to the dark spot is scars from the two laser procedures done.

I know this may bring questions to inquiring minds, so if you have them just comment and ask.

Christine & Daniel...

He rushed back to the family estate and found Christine in her room. Without a word, he pulled her to him, and kissed her deeply. She gave into the feeling, kissed him back, and wrapped her arms around his neck allowing the kiss to deepen. She thought to herself, “Even if this is the only time, I will take it, and live happy with it.”
She allowed him to carry her to the bed. Daniel laid her gently, caressed her body as he removed her night clothes. He started at her feet, kissing the length of her body as she moaned softly with each press of his lips.
As he moved up her body, the taste of caramel washed over his tongue. The scent of her arousal assaulted his senses the closer he got to her sweet spot. He wanted to linger there at the moment to take it all in and store it to memory but his wolf was whining and urging him to take what they both wanted.

Feeling Positive...

Despite the not so great news from the doctor visit on Wednesday, I am feeling very positive. The new adventure is picking up momentum and I am thrilled. I will be attending a 10-week class starting next week which will equip me with not only powerful knowledge but I will learn how to hone my skills in several areas.
Yesterday's orientation was very uplifting and inspiring. I met some really amazing women and so look forward to getting to know them better. There is another seminar tomorrow which I will be attending as well and look forward to what I can take away from it as well.
If you have never heard of them, if you have and not tried their services, you should really think again and do it. Dress For Success is an awesome group and provide much-needed confidence building, networking, support, clothing assistance, knowledge, training, and encouragement. This awesome non-profit group is not only for women but for men who are finding it difficult to find employment.
If you are an employer I would encourage you to help support this organization. There are many ways to support this organization besides financially. They are always in need of volunteers, corporations who are willing to set aside time to assist with mock interviews, donations of; professional clothing, shoes, purses, and accessories (scarves, jewelry, and belts). You just need to contact the organization in your area and see what type of assistance works for you or your company.

Eye Update...

As I previously posted I went to my second/fourth opinion today. It took several hours as I had been told. There were several pictures taken and they even did a dye injection to see where the blood flow was and wasn't. No, the injection was not in my eye (thank god) it was in the arm. It only took about 15 seconds to reach my eyes, pretty cool.
The basic outcome was she agreed with the treatment, said it was the same thing she would have done. The only thing she would have done differently was having blood tests run to see if there were issues with clotting, which she believes could be the reason for the cracked vessels.
The downside is she actually confirmed my fear, there is no actual chance of repair. There were several dark spots where there was no blood flow and from what she said has been there. Said it was permanent and irreversible. She also advised in her opinion since the vision is not improved while the steroids are active it only aids in reducing the amount of swelling (blood pooling) and is causing the increase in pressure I should stop the injections. Then to just keep watching to see how the swelling does without the injections. However, I have to keep using the pressure drops and have to increase to twice a day instead of the once a day I have been doing for the past month.
The pressure was 26 today even with the use of the drops over the past month. I did, however, skip today's dosage to allow her to see everything. But in my opinion, skipping one dose shouldn't have shot the pressure up if the drops were actually working over the past month. She did say she did not see any damage from the pressure, but the injections would eventually cause damage over time.
She advised to follow up with my previous doctor and just advise I do not want the next injection. I just want to wait and watch what the eye does without it.
So quick recap, treatment is what all the other opinions would have done as well, pressure drop to be done twice a day, follow up with Sappenfield, and stop the injections to prevent the eye pressure from getting worse.
After four years of being injected in the eye in the hopes of repairing the damage it is confirmed there is no repairing the damage. I am torn between it being fortunate and unfortunate, knowing/feeling the vision is what it is.

Night Before Nerves...

Well, I have the appointment for the second/fourth opinion on my eye issue. I have to say I think I have been fighting doing this because I am concerned I am going to find out more things I haven't been being told by the previous doctor.
It is bad enough I have been finding things out after the fact as it is, just not thrilled with the idea of finding out more things. Not knowing the side effects of the injections from the beginning and only finding out after they have happened sucks.
The cataract, then the onset of glaucoma just suck, and I am worried I will learn there is other damage to my eye caused by the treatment I have been subjecting myself too in the hope of regaining the eyesight back in my left eye.
Hoping to get good news but the reality of the past four years keeps me doubting there will ever be a recovery of normal sight. I would be fine with having to wear glasses on a permanent basis if it meant there were no more pools of blood blocking areas of the line of sight.
Will update after the appointment...stay tuned.

Meet the Villain...

Hard Climb...

It is a hard climb to create and run a business from the ground to towering above ground and casting its shadow for all to see. Placing each brick by hand, building it up slowly. Scratching my arms and creating calluses where there were none before.
The bumps and bruises from falling, getting back on my feet, pushing forward again and again. Trying it this way, then that way only to hit obstacles repeatedly. Climbing over them, crawling under them, or moving left or right to go around them. Sometimes falling mid climb only to have to start over again or opting for a different route.
There is so much to learn when you start from an idea. Cultivating it, watering it, helping it grow, willing yourself not to give up and letting it die. Without outside support, most ideas never see the light of day. The power of stubborness can be both an asset and a burden.
The struggles are real. As long as I stay strong, believe in myself and my abilities I will prevail. I refuse to say, "I quit!" I will find and travel every route there is to try. I will succeed, bring it, bring the hard road because I don't know how to travel the easy road. Bring the three steps forward and the two steps backward. I will make it happen!!!

Logos - not to be confused with Lagos...

I have now created the Logo Designs page on my website to show a few examples of logo creations. There is also a page for logo design reviews. My first client suggested I post the logo I created for them to show off my creativity, which prompted me to create the page to provide examples of what I can do but not limited to what is seen on the website. I have a vast imagination and will create a logo to match you and your business.
Here is the Logo of my first client:

If you are looking for a logo to be created, use the link below to take a look at other examples.

Logos...

Expanding my creative designing options. I have now included business logo design to my portfolio. I have not as of yet created a page on my website for examples possible logos but I will be adding it soon. Stretching the limits of my abilities is so exciting. Finding there are no ceilings to limit me is an amazing feeling.
This means the only thing limiting me... is me! I refuse to limit myself. I am more determined to establish myself as an artist with many variations of talent.
I never imagined my dream of being my own boss could be possible but I now know as long as I don't give up I will make that dream a reality. I have abilities I have only just begun to discover, who knows what a little more time will reveal.

Happy Puppy...

Very excited puppy...
So happy to have another human home to play ball with, it is everyone's job to play ball with the ball hound. He is such a big baby and boy does he ever love playing ball. It does not matter what time you come to the house, it is ball time to him. There is nothing else you need to do when you come home but play ball with the puppy.

Happy, Ball focused puppy...

Unexpected Surprise...

I love it when my kids surprise me by coming home when I had no idea they were coming. I miss them when they are gone but so happy when they come back. It always feels like they were never gone. The hubby will be gone but I will not be alone thanks to two of my boys.

Broken Heart

Today I sit thinking about a wonderful woman who has been in my life since I was a teenager. She came into my life after I had lost the most important person in my life, my grandmother. This woman became my adopted grandmother. She was full of love and positivity. She was an amazing woman.
Earlier this week I learned she had passed away on Easter. The hardest part is I couldn't be there in person to say goodbye, I also can't be there to attend the funeral.
Even though life had changed our interaction with each other, I still thought of her and reached out to her. It had been awhile since I had spoken with her and it pains me to admit I let life keep me from maintaining communication with her. I loved her very much, I just pray she knows I loved her and will miss her.
I will however always have her in my heart. Don't let those you love ever doubt you love them. Tell them every chance you have to tell them.
In loving memory Grandma Ruby!

Exciting news...

I have made some changes to my website. I have changed the name of the website, added new cover art design examples, and will be adding consulting options. I am expanding my business to help other self-publishing authors through the steps I stumbled through.
The new examples of the cover art was a thrill for me. I spent several days creating more examples to show my creative abilities. I had a lot of fun playing around with different ideas and actually created a new cover for one of my future books.

Awesome weekend...

It was a great weekend, our son came home for the weekend. It had been awhile since he'd been home. He is very busy being an adult. We don't get to see our kids as much now they are adults and have lives of their own.
I have to say I really do enjoy when they do come home and visit even when it isn't bi-weekly or even monthly. Love my kiddos dearly and wish I could see them like I did when they lived at home but yet I am torn because I am very proud of the adults they have become.
It was a wonderful weekend and so nice to have two of my boys home for a family dinner. I still have not mastered the whole timing everything to be done perfectly at the same time so everything is warm at dinner time. I so do not like cooking. Baking yes, cooking no! But can't eat cake and cookies for dinner...lol
Happy Monday Y'all!!!

Christine & Daniel...

As he reached her breast, she deepened the kiss pulling him to her. She wrapped her arms and legs around him. He lowered himself on top of her. She rotated her hips as he came down between her legs resting his bulge which had grown as his physical contact with her increased.  As her apex rubbed against him, all thought left his brain but having her and being as deep inside her as he could get. Unable to stop himself he ripped her night clothes from her body and removed his own clothing forced him to break the kiss.
As he looked down at her while he removed his clothing, she appeared to be glowing. As she reached for him, she called out, "Daniel."
He sat straight up panting and covered in sweat. He looked around in confusion trying to remember where he was and what had just happened. The woman lying next to him stirred rolling over towards him. She put her hand on his arm, "Are you all right? Did you have another bad dream?"

Creativity...

I have been working on graphic designs for some time now and just the other day I found a new software ability I didn't realize my software had previously. The exciting part is it will increase my creative ability.
To find the creative window opening wider is thrilling to me. I have always been creative. I love to play with the creativity and to push the limits. I like to push myself and see where the creativity will take me.
I actually amaze myself sometimes, then there are other times I look at something wishing it was on paper so I could ball it up and throw it across the room. Deleting it is just not the same. But nonetheless, I absolutely love stretching to limits and surprising myself.

Startling Wake-Up...

So this happened...
Awake at 7:30 this morning to the sound of my car alarm going off. The interesting part is the car wasn't even locked so I have no idea why it even went off. So glad we live in the country so the only ones the noise bothered was those in my house and the dogs.
Besides being awakened by being startled I couldn't go back to sleep which really ticked me off. I really love my sleep time and it being interrupted messes with my head!

Critique of my Day...

Did my motherly and wifely duties, per myself, prepared lunches for both my son and my hubby. Have to make sure they eat during their workday.
Got myself together for what I had to accomplish today outside the house. Now, a normal day is being home doing computer work on different projects and job hunting. So, today was out of the normal. I got fitted for a suit to wear for interviews. It turned out I ended up with black slacks, black shell, a sharp red jacket, and black patent leather heels. I rocked the suit!
The next appointment went just as well! I know my employment counselor is awesome at the job because I always feel empowered after our meetings. We had an awesome meeting of the minds today and refined my resume. I now have two well-polished resumes. I will find a job, I have no doubts.
My take away from today is, maintain the course, there is light at the end of the tunnel and it is getting closer. Forward is the only direction available!!
Bring it on New Adventure, I got this!!!

Interesting Day...

Most days I hear from no one and I spend my time talking to the furbabies since there is no one else to talk to and to keep myself from feeling so lonely.
Well, today I spent most of my day responding to emails, text messages, messenger messages, and phone calls. It was a busy day and it felt awesome!!!
I did get a little puppy play time. He was very happy to play. However, at some point today he ate his bandage and the broken part of his nail actually fell off. His paw looks normal just a shorter toenail/claw. Love my big furbaby.

Fur Baby Update...

Doing awesome today. No bummed toenail is going to keep him from playing ball. Big Boy was all about playing ball with my hubby today. He was so happy, played until he was almost crawling back with the ball. The hubby finally told him no more puppy needed to rest and get some water.
He is so big I forget sometimes he truly is still a puppy. Love my Ace of Spades...

Day #23 & #24

Yesterday was very busy and went by so fast I completely forgot to even post outside of the updates. It was a very exciting day since I honestly did not expect to hear back from Duke Eye Center until next week to set up my first visit. Needless to say, it was a very fruitful day!!
Today has been a dreary rainy day. Puppies haven't been able to go outside and play today so, we played inside and now we have an indoor ball playing injury. Poor puppy, he is doing okay just moving around a little slower. Luckily it is just a torn nail there was no blood or cuts. It is, I'm sure, sore and he is limping but he is a champ for letting the hubby put the blue tape on to keep it from getting worse and to allow it to heal. He has also been really good about not trying to chew it off.

Lyric & Michael

On her first day when she arrived, a man sat on the sofa in the waiting area. When she saw his face, her breath caught in her throat. A warming sensation caused her muscles to tighten and her thighs to clamp. Her body was reacting in a manner she had never experienced previously. It was as though her body was instinctually telling her something.
Her mind wandered causing her to ask herself, “if he tasted as good as he looked.” The growing urges made her wonder who he was, she forced herself to keep on her course to the receptionist’s desk. She moved to the receptionist desk to let Ethan know she was there. She could feel the stranger’s eyes watching her as she walked across the open space.

Eye Update #2...

Just got the call and will be seeing the other doctor on April 18th. So, now we shall see if I get a confirmation this was the only path or if there is another choice. I am very excited about this and so, hoping for the best.
However, for those from my area know this is one of the top-notch hospitals in the country. I have also heard a lot of really awesome things about this eye center.
Of course, because this will be a first-time visit I will have to go through the whole both eyes being checked. Paperwork, dilation, eye chart reading, and all the fun flashing lights into my eye. Hoping the records will be sent by the previous doctor so I don't have to try and recall everything from the last four years.
I supposed it is a good thing I actually blog about this will help collect the information a little faster should I have to.

Eye Update...

Hi, Y'all...
I have obtained the referral for another opinion. I have an awesome family doctor. She has not actually seen the inside of my eye since I went to her back in 2014 because I couldn't see. Today her comment was, after looking in my left eye, there is a lot of blood. I kind of laughed and said, "Ah, yeah, I know."
I explained to her my concerns and she was more than happy to do the referral for me. She didn't know any retinal specialist but said if it was a Glaucoma thing she knew exactly who she would have referred me too.
I will most likely hear something next week at the earliest and will keep you posted on the progression of the new specialist.

Birthday Month Day #22 - Resumes...

It has been a busy day. I really didn't want to wake up this morning but I had places to be and people to see.
Had my career counseling appointment and it went really well. I was excited to learn skills I discounted, I shouldn't have been discounting them. It is really amazing to learn things you have learned/self-taught are still skills which can be professionally marketable.
Now, all I have to do is find the correct wording to include these skills on my resume. I honestly think the resume thing is the most frustrating part of this whole job searching thing because it would seem you have to have a different resume for every different type of job you are applying for.
I am sitting here thinking if I have multiple skills in different areas I have to create multiple resumes to indicate these unique skills on separate resumes. Why has it gotten so difficult to apply for jobs?
What happened to the all-inclusive resume which is all about your work experience and skills. The point of a resume is to sell your abilities so why do you have to have so many different resumes to do this? The job experience won't change just the skills presented. How is this a good thing? Most job announcements say your work history must prove your knowledge and skills, but if your work experience is how you got the knowledge and skills it isn't going to happen regardless of how many different resumes you have.
Just my mind trying to rationalize this requirement/encouragement of career counselors. Oh, who am I kidding, it is me being me and arguing...

Today's Accomplishment...

Today is better than yesterday so I count this as an accomplishment!
I actually checked the mail today, snow flurries and all.
Placed a call to, again, correct a claim screw-up with AFLAC - it seems about every six months or so they seem to misunderstand when I submit a claim for my injection procedure. I don't understand how they can look at the same papers and not get it is not just a vision check appointment.
Have my appointment with my regular doctor on Friday.
Confirmed my appointment with an employment counselor.
I also submitted another application for a potential job.
So, score multiple accomplishments today!
Happy Wednesday Y'all!!!

Birthday Month Day #21

Okay, yesterday was officially the first day of spring...well my idea of spring does not include snow. thunderstorms yes, snow no!
Spend the better part of an hour with a 100lb dog in my lap shaking like a leaf. Bless his poor pea-picking little heart the lightning and thunder had him so scared. He is still a puppy so it is a learning experience.

Birthday Month Day #20

This morning was not good and I wanted to scratch my eye out. I guess I jumped the gun about my eye adjusting to the drops. I wasn't able to get on and job hunt until after dinner time. All I can hope is tomorrow will be better.
Nothing new with the job search, so goal not met today. Tomorrow will be better for this adventure.  Previously submitted applications still under review though.
Now off to work some more on the editing project.

Birthday Month Day #19

It has been a decent day, it is taking some time but my eye is starting to get used to the medications in the drops to lower the pressure. It takes a few hours but the itching and dry feeling clears up and goes back to normal feeling. I was able to make it through the afternoon without wanting to scratch my eye out. I count this as an accomplishment for the day.
I am also proud to announce my middle son is going back to college full time in the fall after taking a year off. Something positive to look forward to this fall.
I have also applied for another job today, so fingers crossed. I still have two other applications still under review. But I have done my daily goal and applied for at least one job today. The new adventure continues...
Happy Monday!!!

Birthday Month Day #18...Eye Update

Even though today started out a little on the rough side, it got better. I accomplished completing two chapters on my editing project and started a third one. I am very pleased with the progress and hope to keep it up. I just have to make sure I don't lose out on the progress of my own writing project. Book four of the series is not going to write its self!
I wasn't awake enough this morning to catch my alarm before it went off so as to not wake up my husband, which is why it started off a bit rough. Needless to say, he was not happy about being woke up since he had to work today. I hate when I wake him up. He did actually get back to sleep and was fine when he woke up at his normal time.
I am hoping my eye gets used to these stupid drops soon because they are driving me crazy. My eye itches and feels dry even though it really isn't. I have to keep blinking, it really sucks.
I know I mentioned in the eye update I needed to make a decision about continuing the injections or not but I am not sure if I was clear about the fact it is the injections which are causing the pressure and requiring the need for the drops. The timeline I gave on keeping my eyesight, what little it is in the left eye, was based on no further rise in the pressure/glaucoma damage to the optic nerve. If the pressure increases the timeline shortens. So, if I continue the injections I run the risk of causing more damage then actually helping the issue.
The bleeding, which is what is being called swelling, is only being slowed while the steroid is active, once it is done the bleeding increases again and the pressure goes back to normal range. Unsure if it reverses the damage already done or not but the pressure decreases as the medication dissipates.
The bleeding never stops even with the injections and the vision is never clear enough to actually see like normal or even close to normal. I may actually have to give in and start using an eye patch like the kids tease me about doing.
The eye is also starting to show the signs of a lazy eye. Since I can't really see too much out of the eye anyway I can't tell other than the feeling the lid is not fully open like the right one. So, there you have it, I will be talking to my general doctor and see what her thoughts on all of this are and to make sure there isn't anything else going on.
As always I will keep you updated as things happen and change!
